Playing Catch-Up

My goodness, I haven't done a very good job on keeping up with my blog have I?! Blame it on summer school; online class and independent study made it so that any free time I had in the evenings was spent WORKING on the computer rather than blogging. Bleh. But now that I am getting back into my normal routine I am SO excited to share with you all some of the exciting things that have been going on down here.

A group of us interns decided to venture to Tampa, only about an hour away, to catch a Rays game. For those of you who don't know about Tropicana Field I'll let you in on a little secret; it's indoors. That's right, an indoor baseball stadium complete with AstroTurf field. I suppose it does help with the number of rain outs during the wet Florida afternoons. The stadium really isn't as terrible as people make it out to be, although it is definitely not your typical baseball experience. We bought some cheap nosebleed seats and made our way down to the Captains deck in the outfield where we had a much better view of the game. Overall it was a fun experience and so cool that we have a professional sports team so close to where we live.

I LOVE the Chick-fil-a cows, they crack me up every time!

Made it down to the Captain Morgan deck towards the end of the game to get a better view, that's a lot of empty seats...

One more strike! Here comes the pitch to seal the win.

I last left you with the beginning of my first youth baseball tournament "International Salute to Baseball" which was a HUGE success. We had teams from all over the world come down to participate in our tournament and my Spanish came in very handy. I got to spend a few 'work days' out at the ESPN Wide World of Sports watching the games which was a nice change from the everyday office. Over labor day weekend we hosted another tournament, not as large as the first, but I was so excited when I saw that several teams from St.Thomas were signed up to play. My bf DJ is from St.Thomas and every time one of the parents would call us leading up to the tournament their accent brought a smile to my face and made me miss DJ's mom and her tasty island cooking.
